February 20 2007 (Jewswire.com) - The Rabbinical Council of the United Synagogue held it’s 11th annual residential conference for US Rabbis at the Normandie Hotel, Bournemouth, last week, (13th – 15th February). The theme of the conference was ‘Ideas into Action’ with significant Shiurim and contributions from Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks, Dayanim of the London Beth Din and guest international presenters Rabbi Yosef Zvi Rimon of Alon Sh’vut, Israel and Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Executive Vice-President of the National Council of Young Israel, USA. Three major sessions were also conducted by a professional trainer who demonstrated how his system of brainstorming and project management can be utilised by Rabbis as a tool to assist with Community-building, leadership and decision-making.

A record-breaking number of 100 adult delegates and nearly as many children attended the Conference which was convened by RCUS Committee member Rabbi Hershi Vogel and organised by RCUS Executive Director Rabbi Dr Julian Shindler. The RCUS was also delighted to welcome a delegation of Student chaplains and their families, as well as a significant number of colleagues from major Provincial Communities, to join them for the Conference.

Rabbi Mordechai Ginsbury, Chairman of RCUS commented: ‘It is remarkable to see how far and how fast we are moving forwards with Rabbinic development within the US at present. It was heart-warming and inspiring to see so many colleagues and their families enthusiastically learning, interacting, sharing best-practice and experiences together.’
