The Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL) and the Jewish Publication Society (JPS) have partnered to distribute bibliographies highlighting great Jewish books. The lists "A Year of Celebrations," "Creating a Collection," and "Jewish Classics for Kids" were created by AJL member librarians who are respected experts in the field of Judaic literature.
A sampling from each bibliography is available as a PDF on the Jewish Publication Society website, where you will also find information on ordering the full bibliographies from the Association of Jewish Libraries. The bibliographies include books from a wide variety of publishers, but as a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Jewish literacy and learning, JPS thought it was appropriate to publicize these materials through their website.
The Jewish Publication Society is a nonprofit educational organization formed to enhance Jewish culture by promoting the dissemination of religious and secular works, in the United States and abroad, to all those interested in past and contemporary Jewish life. Founded in 1888, JPS is the oldest publisher of Jewish titles in the English language. Learn more at www.jewishpub.org.
The Association of Jewish Libraries promotes Jewish literacy through enhancement of libraries and library resources and through leadership for the profession and practitioners of Judaica librarianship. AJL is proud to offer many Judaic bibliographies and other guides to Judaica librarianship in print and online at www.jewishlibraries.org.
