Jerusalem, Israel, October 29, 2007: Israeli alternative energy will be the focus of a Italian business delegation arriving today, organized by CdO - Compagnia delle Opere, one of Italy's largest network of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The trip will introduce Israeli innovations in solar, water, biomass and other related power-generation technologies. Delegates will visit Israeli R&D institutions and companies specializing in various environmental technologies, attend the WATEC 2007 exhibition, and the Prime Minister's Conference for Export and International Cooperation. The aim is to identify potential technology providers and joint venture partners.

The delegation was organized by CdO's Jerusalem office and is headed by Mr. Enrico Biscaglia, CEO of CdO Italy and by Mr. Maurizio Giuliano, Director of International Relations at CdO. The delegates are entrepreneurs in energy, construction and infrastructure, environmental technologies and related fields all interested in learning about and doing business with Israel.

Mr. Biscaglia today said, "CdO's mission is to promote the dignity of the individual and his or her work, and to help entpreneurs to develop their business. Our motto is, 'An Ideal Criterion, An Working Friendship'. There are many similarities between the Italian and Israeli economies, as both are based to a large extent on SMEs. We hope to convey to our Israeli colleagues the message of the CdO model: by joining forces and networking, SMEs gain the political and financial clout they need and deserve."

Mr. Giuliano added, "Italy has recently become more supportive of alternative, renewable and green power systems. We're aware of Israel's leading edge in these fields and look forward to learning more during our visit. Our delegation will be visiting companies with innovative technologies in fields such as solar, photovoltaic, and biomass energy, in the hope that these meetings may eventually lead to business ventures under the auspices of CdO. If successful, such partnerships could expand to countries outside Italy. In addition, our network provides a strong platform for consortiums wishing to bid on R&D projects requiring a European partner."

By uniting SMEs under a single roof, CdO has become a major force in Italy's political, financial and social arenas. The CdO network promotes the culture of entrepreneurship at over 34,000 associates enterprises within Italy, both profit and non-profit. In the non-profit sphere, CdO runs and/or supports 1,500 organizations in Italy and abroad in the fields of healthcare, education, culture, sports, vocational training, and international development.
